JSRCC presents "Ben Carson, M.D."
January 18, 2005
Richmond, VA - J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College (Reynolds) in association with Living the Dream, Incorporated and Richmond Public Schools will present the play, Ben Carson, M. D., at Armstrong High School (Armstrong) on January 24, 2005. The play is based on Dr. Ben Carson’s autobiography, “Gifted Hands”, which gives his account of growing up as a gang member in Detroit’s inner-city to becoming the only African American director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. > Read the full story

Longwood and JSRCC Sign
Guaranteed Admissions Agreement

June 10, 2005
Richmond, VA - Graduates of J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College (Reynolds) who earn an Associate of Arts and/or Science Degree with a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher will be guaranteed admission to Longwood University. This guaranteed admission agreement adds to the articulation agreement that guarantees that these students will have junior status, all of their credits will transfer, although not all may apply toward their degree and all of their lower-division general education goals (except foreign language) will be met. > Read the full story

Virginia Tech’s College of Engineering and Virginia’s community colleges partner to offer guaranteed admission

Richmond, VA - Students who graduate from engineering programs at Virginia’s community colleges now have a guaranteed place to continue their education: Virginia Tech’s College of Engineering.
