Winners of Student Art Show Announced
RICHMOND, VA (April 23, 2007) – Twenty-one students won awards Friday night for their accomplishments in the visual arts. The 2007 Student Art Show, sponsored by the School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, was judged by faculty representatives from the renowned Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts. The event showcased the talents of JSRCC students in painting, graphic design, drawing, color photography, black and white photography, and ceramics.
Michael Tonzola won best in show and a $300 grand prize for his color photograph entitled “Taking in the View.” Seva Lobanov was 1st runner-up, winning $200 for his painting entitled “Landscape.” Winners in individual categories include:
