Basic Glazier Technology

Purpose: The Basic Glazier Technology program provides fundamental background knowledge and skills for all persons entering or currently employed in the glass industry and stresses safe and efficient job performance.

 

Occupational Objectives: Establishes a background for persons wishing employment in the Glass Industry fields of automotive glass installation and repair, commercial glass installation and repair, storefront retail sales, industrial wholesale, and in allied fields such as construction trades and insurance claims. Reviews basic knowledge, skills, and regulations for persons currently employed in the glass industry.

 

Admission Requirements: General college curricular admission

 

Program Notes: In addition to general college admission, program admission requires (1) completion of a VCCS-administered placement test, and (2) successful placement test performance beyond the MTH 02 level or successful completion of a MTH 02 course or its equivalent.

 

Students enrolling in Basic Glazier Technology for the purpose of entry-level employment are encouraged to interview with the division chair prior to enrolling in GLZ 100.
