Welcome to FantasTech 2016! The Executive Committee invites you to participate and present in the FantasTech Virtual Conference event held online February 5 – 12, 2016! FantasTech is the virtual conference for technology enhanced teaching and learning. Faculty and administrators will share and learn the best practices in distance, blended, and technology facilitated learning. Our theme this year is Creating Connections: Shaping the Digital Learning Future. We invite you to join us in the conversation!


FantasTech is offered synchronously (live) in AvayaLive Engage virtual environment. It is free for all educators! Live sessions will be scheduled at various times of the day and evening. Most sessions will be recorded for asynchronous viewing within the environment and on the Web site after the conclusion of the conference. The links above will provide access to registration, proposal submission, schedule, and the conference environment when it opens.
FantasTech Gathering Area

Submit your proposal using the CFP link (now closed for this year). We invite proposals on topics related to the theme in these categories:

  • Program Administration
  • Teaching & Learning
  • Trends in Teaching/Learning Technology
  • Student Support
  • Professional Development
  • Research & Academic Papers

Please write up a concise description of your presentation (approximately 50 words) to entice attendees. Two types of sessions will be offered. Presentations will be reserved for 50 minutes, with 30-40 minutes for presentation and 10-20 minutes for audience involvement/Q&A session. Presentations will take place in the main gathering area.

Panel Discussions
will be reserved for 30 to 50 minutes at the facilitator’s discretion. Dialog will be interactive, facilitated by the leader, limited in participants, and may take place in the gathering area, conference rooms or lounge areas of the conference site.

Special sessions will be held for presenters to learn the presentation tools in the environment. Information on these sessions will be sent after your proposal is accepted. Badges will be awarded to presenters for recognition of this important contribution.

FantasTech Open Keynote RoomThe FantasTech Virtual Conference is an outgrowth of the Virtual Conference of J Sargeant Reynolds Community College. As the conference has grown, we have embraced an exciting new identity reflected by the pilot of a synchronous virtual platform in 2012.  FantasTech is reaching out to serve the global community of educators seeking to use technology as a tool for 21st century learning. We welcome you as participants and presenters to enhance this virtual learning experience!

Conference participants will have the opportunity to engage with collFantasTech 2015 Keynote eagues across the country through avatars in a game-like environment. Opportunities for interaction include casual discussions, Q & A with presenters, and interaction with exhibitors.
