The Academic Support Centers are home to the college's tutorial programs. Faculty and peer tutors provide one-on-one and small group tutorial conferences for J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College students free of charge. For further details, please see our GUIDELINES.

How can I get help?

Students come to an Academic Support Centers to obtain a copy of the GUIDELINES and to complete a REQUEST FOR TUTORING application as early as the first week of each academic term.

An appointment is scheduled for the first tutorial session. After each tutorial session, another appointment is scheduled when requested

 Who is eligible to receive tutorial services?

Free tutoring (see our GUIDELINES) is available to students at JSRCC who are currently enrolled in the JSRCC credit courses they list on the REQUEST FOR TUTORING application form. However, each term, there may be courses which tutors are not available.  The Academic Support Centers cannot provide tutoring for students in these categories:

• students in courses they have completed successfully (A, B, C, D, S)

• students in non-credit courses

• students in audited courses

• seniors taking tuition-free courses or students from special programs at the college that incorporate tutoring or reduced sized classes
