Through the participation of our participating internship sites, Culinary Arts students gain the kind of experience that only comes from working in some of RVA's most bustling restaurant kitchens. We're extremely grateful to our industry partners for making these real-world experiences possible.

Please support the restaurants and hotels that support Reynolds students.

About Internships

To earn an associate degree in Culinary Arts, students are required to complete an internship. Pairing their education with real-life experience minimizes the learning gap between school and career.

Nearly 90 percent of internship hours are reinforcing technical skills used in the kitchen. Students also complete customer service, "front of the house," and management-related concepts to build a well-rounded understanding of day-to-day operations.

Especially for students without a background in culinary, the internship provides a key gateway for students to transition into an entry-level opportunity, not only in Richmond's vibrant food and hospitality scene, but beyond. Alumni from Reynolds' Culinary Arts program are working in award-winning restaurants in major cities across the country. They're also following their dreams of opening their own establishments.
