Horticulture Instructor- Hydroponics (ADJUNCT)

The focus of the applicant should be Hydroponics, with experience in growing Food Crops and/or hemp in a greenhouse environment, or in a conventional outdoor environment. Reynolds is seeking adjunct instructors to teach day, evening and Saturday classes in Horticulture primarily on the Goochland Campus, 1851 Dickinson Road Goochland, VA 23063.
TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Part-time adjunct teaching faculty-ranked appointment. Salary commensurate with the education and experience of the applicant. The positions are needed for the Fall 2020 semester.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Associate’s degree in Horticulture or related field, with concentration in Hydroponic production methods; a minimum of two (2) years of full-time related occupational experience in horticultural, hydroponic production of food crops and/or hemp. The selected candidate must be able to successfully pass the college’s pre-employment security screening.
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED: Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture or related field. Documented experience in Hydroponic production of food crops and/or hemp in the Horticulture/Agriculture industry. Previous teaching experience within the field is also preferred. Demonstrated ability to incorporate technology routinely into instructional and faculty responsibilities, including use of Canvas (LMS) Learning Management System. Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with multi-cultural populations that support diversity, cultural understanding and inclusion. Demonstrated ability to use a personal computer and current Microsoft Office programs.
