Coordinator, Library Services (Position No. FA310)

J. This position will have position responsibilities on both the college’s Parham Road Campus, 1651 E. Parham Road Richmond, VA 23228 and the Goochland Campus, 1851 Dickinson Road Goochland, VA 23063.

TYPE OF APPOINTMENT:  Full-time twelve-month professional faculty-ranked appointment. Salary range:  $62,270 - $126,288. Approximate maximum hiring salary:  $71,000. Salary commensurate with the education and experience of the applicant. 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:  Master’s degree in Information and Library Science from an American Library Association accredited school is required. Considerable working knowledge of day-to-day library functions, including tutoring services and the computer lab. Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct the work of both full-time and part-time professionals and paraprofessionals. Demonstrated ability to provide circulation, reference and information literacy training, and technical services including acquisition and cataloging. Demonstrated ability to work as a team member to develop and implement strategic goals and objectives, library policies and procedures, and to plan and monitor budgets.  Demonstrated ability to develop and support library initiatives in keeping up with the future trends of the library.  Demonstrated ability to conduct outreach efforts with students, faculty, staff and other stakeholders to market and promote library services, resources and initiatives.  Demonstrated ability to utilize high level of organizational skills.  Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing; and, successfully work with and engage with multicultural populations that support diversity, cultural understanding and inclusion. The selected candidate must successfully pass the college’s pre-employment security screening. 

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:  Recent and progressive professional experience in a multi-campus academic library setting is preferred. Current and progressively responsible administrative and supervisory experience is also preferred.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:  Under the general guidance and direction of the Director of Library, Information Services, and Academic Support, the Coordinator of Library Services is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Library and the Tutoring Services on both the Parham Road and Goochland Campuses. The Coordinator will provide circulation, reference and technical library services as well as assist the Library Director in the planning and development of long-range strategic goals and annual unit work plan. This position will also be responsible for marketing and promoting library and academic support services; developing and supporting library initiatives and special projects; and participating in college and community activities, and professional development activities as necessary.
