Nursing Instructor (#GO183)

Reynolds is currently seeking applicants for the position of Nursing Instructor which will be assigned to the School of Health Professions Downtown Campus, 700 E. Jackson Street.

Full-time restricted nine-month teaching faculty-ranked appointment.  Salary range: $45,965 - $77,000. Salary commensurate with the education and experience of the applicant.

  Master’s degree in Nursing from a nationally accredited college or university and an unrestricted Registered Nurse’s license. Minimum of two (2) years of direct client care nursing experience or its equivalent within the past five (5) years or two (2) years of full-time teaching in nursing education or its equivalent (30 credits is equal to 1 year). The selected candidate must be able to successfully pass the college's pre-employment security screening.

Minimum two (2) years of recent teaching experience in a nursing program is preferred. Demonstrated ability to teach effectively in both didactic and clinical settings with demonstrated understanding of concept-based teaching principles. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in course and curriculum development, student assessment, and course evaluations. Demonstrated ability to incorporate technology routinely into instructional and faculty responsibilities, including use of the Canvas (LMS) Learning Management System for online learning development/teaching, and current Microsoft Office programs. Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with multi-cultural populations that support diversity, cultural understanding and inclusion. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in community wellness/illness, chronic care, and geriatric work experience.

The primary responsibility is teaching.  Faculty loads are normally scheduled on an average of fifteen (15) credits per semester.  Office hours, advising and collateral duty assignments are maintained.  Teaching schedules may include day and evening classes, dual enrollment classes with local high schools, and multiple campus assignments. Opportunities for summer teaching will be based on student interest.
