TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Part-time hourly position without state benefits. Wage employees are restricted to working approximately 29 hours per week or less, not to exceed 1,500 hours annually.
DUTIES: The Office Support Technician provides administrative assistance to the Teacher Education Program in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences on the Downtown Campus. This position manages all aspects of field placements for the Teacher Education Program, including locating and placing students in the required field placements; organizing and implementing all mailings for the teacher education program; and replying to all correspondence including monitoring the teacher education email account. The Office Support Technician also supports the Dean and Associate Dean and assists with any special projects conducted by the Teacher Education Program and the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Working knowledge of administrative and office support functions. Working knowledge of and proficiency with computer software programs including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook). Demonstrated ability to write in a clear, professional manner with impeccable grammar and spelling, as well as excellent proofreading and editing skills. Demonstrated ability to perform highly detailed work in an accurate manner. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment using excellent organizational and office management skills. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with individuals both internal and external to the organization, while exhibiting excellent customer service skills. The selected candidate must successfully pass the college’s pre-employment screening.
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED: Associate’s degree or an equivalent combination of training, coursework and experience related to the position is preferred. Experience working with PK-12 in a public school settings, preferably in a licensed position. Experience working in a college or university setting and experience as an administrative assistant or office manager. Experience managing information in PeopleSoft or other higher education enterprise data system.
STARTING SALARY: Starting hourly rate: $13.63per hour, based on experience.
PAY BAND: 3
