NEXT Step Dual Admission Program with Virginia Commonwealth University
The NEXT Step Dual Admission Program provides students the opportunity for simultaneous enrollment at both Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) and Reynolds Community College. Students will receive coordinated support services from Reynolds and VCU toward completion of their associate degree and continuing on to completing a bachelor's degree at VCU. This program also includes guaranteed admission for students meeting the eligibility criteria; competitive programs are excluded from guaranteed admission.
NEXT Step Dual Admission Agreement
Guaranteed Admissions Agreements
Reynolds students have access to statewide Guaranteed Admissions Agreements between Virginia's Community Colleges and four-year colleges and universities. A guaranteed admissions agreement is an agreement between a two-year institution and a four-year institution where a student is guaranteed admission to the four-year institution by earning a transfer or specified applied degree and satisfying specified academic criteria. Students transferring under a general admission guaranteed admission agreement are not necessarily entitled to be admitted to a specific program. Articulation Agreements
Reynolds Community College has agreements with many four-year institutions covering the conditions for student transfer from Reynolds to a bachelor's degree program at the four-year college or university. These formal arrangements are referred to as articulation agreements.
An Articulation Agreement is a written contract between Reynolds and a four-year institution that contains agreed upon courses or programs that will transfer to a particular four-year institution. This is an assurance that if students complete courses or academic programs by meeting specified criteria they will be admitted and those completed courses or programs will be applied towards the baccalaureate degree.
