Reynolds uses the ATI TEAS assessment exam for admission testing into the Surgical Technology AAS Program. Students must register online and pay for the exam when they come to campus to take the exam. Please see detailed instructions further down on this page.

Entrance Exam Details

All students applying to the Reynolds Community College Surgical Technology program must achieve a composite score of 45% for all four sections of the ATI TEAS: Reading, Mathematic, English & Language Usage, and Science sections. The exam will cover the following topics outlined in this table:

Testing Policies

Students may only take the TEAS exam twice. Students will have only 2 attempts to do so and the exam must be taken at a Reynolds Community College downtown campus in the School of Health Professions (not the campus Testing Center).

To schedule your exam you must reach out to the program director, Lisa Day, via email and confirm the date and time.  Email Professor Day at lday@reynolds.edu The following testing dates & start times will be available for students trying to enroll in the Fall 2024 cohort:

  • April 10, 2024  9:00 am
  • April 12, 2024 12:00 pm
  • April 24, 2024 9:00 am
  • May 7, 2024 9:00 am

More test dates will be offered in May and will be posted soon. There is limited seating in the computer lab. Students must schedule an appointment to test.  Walk-ins are not accepted.

How to Prepare for the TEAS

Many study materials for the ATI TEAS assessment exam are available online from different vendors and students may use whatever study materials they choose; just search "TEAS Exam" in your internet browser to find resources to assist you. Additionally, study materials may be available through our downtown campus library.

Refund Process

Refunds must be requested through the vendor, ATI.  Reynolds Community College is not involved in the purchase or refund processes for the examination.  Please go to www.atitesting.com to seek assistance.

Create an Account with ATI Prior to Your Test Date

5 Easy steps to complete:

  1. Go to atitesting.com
  2. Click on “Create an account” in the top right corner of the screen
  3. When a new screen opens, fill in all your blue fields. Blue fields are required to create your account. In the “Institution” field select Reynolds Community College to which you are applying.
  4. Write down your Username and Password and SAVE it in a safe place. You will not be able to take the ATI TEAS test without them.
  5. Click the “Register” button, wait for the progress bar complete. You are done creating your ATI account; do not go any further.

Next you will schedule your test time with Professor Day (lday@reynolds.edu) and here is what will happen on test day:

  1. You will open the computer browser using Chrome.
  2. Cache and cookies must be cleared.
  3. You will use your usernamea nd password to login to your ATI account at www.atitesting.com
  4. Click “Add Product” and enter the ID and password provided to you by the proctor for the exam.
  5. You will be prompted to pay for the TEAS using your credit/debit card. You will not be able to pay with check or cash. Students pay for the test via credit card, directly to ATI on their website.
  6. Print a copy of your results at the end of the exam to include with your application
