TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Full-time classified position with state benefits. 


DUTIES: The Scholarship Coordinator provides oversight and direction to the college’s scholarship program. This position demands an integration of complex functions relating to the implementation of the scholarship program, including advising students on the process of applying, advising students about their available scholarship and financial aid packages, daily utilization of accounting skills to ensure the careful management of individual scholarship funds, and coordination with other departments (i.e., business office, academic schools and financial aid). The Scholarship Coordinator also manages and coordinates the preparation of materials, invoices, and information for donor stewardship, events management, oversight of the awarding process, and marketing the scholarship program to potential recipients.


QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Considerable knowledge of regulations and laws related to college scholarship programs, academic program requirements, and data reporting and release. Demonstrated ability to counsel and\or advise students. Demonstrated accounting skills and understanding of fund management principles and tools to carefully manage individual funds and oversee the awarding process.  Considerable knowledge of student and donor outreach services to include marketing and counseling services. Demonstrated ability to successfully coordinate with other college or administrative units in support of college fundraising projects and stewardship events. Demonstrated ability to perform data entry and utilize data processing systems; personal computers with current software packages; and file maintenance. Demonstrated ability to successfully handle multiple complex tasks and to analyze data, resolve problems, and make sound independent decisions. Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service; and communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with a diverse population and experience successfully working with multi-generational and diverse populations. High school diploma or equivalent.


QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED: Graduation from an accredited college or university with course work in public administration, accounting, business administration, or a related field is preferred. Current experience with PeopleSoft’s Student Information System (SIS) is strongly preferred. Experience in a comparable fundraising or university/educational environment is also preferred.



STARTING SALARY: Maximum starting salary, $55,000. Based on related experience.
