Reynolds is currently seeking applicants for the position of Academic Affairs Administrative Assistant which will be assigned to the Office of Academic Affairs on the Parham Road Campus, 1651 E. Parham Road, Richmond, VA.
TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Full-time classified position with state benefits.
DUTIES: The Academic Affairs Administrative Assistant serves as the administrative support to the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs (AVPAA). Duties include managing the daily operations of the Office of Academic Affairs in the delivery of quality instruction and support services, and in providing services to students, faculty, and staff of the college. This position serves as a point of contact for students and their families, faculty, staff, and community members and must provide exceptional customer service to all of these college stakeholders. This position will manage the AVPAA’s calendar, coordinate, schedule, and support meetings and committees, manage department budgets, maintain office files and systems, and generate reports. Additionally, this position supports the Curriculum Committee along with curriculum development processes and procedures. Many of the duties of this position must be carried out independently with limited guidance to ensure the Office of the AVPAA operates efficiently, effectively, and in the best interest of students and the college.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Considerable working knowledge of administrative and office support functions. Considerable knowledge of and proficiency in personal computers and the latest computing tools inclusive of Microsoft Office Suites software (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within team settings. Demonstrated ability to professionally interact with individuals with a wide range of interests and backgrounds, to include students and families, faculty and staff, and the general public. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain spreadsheets, databases and intranet sites. Demonstrated ability to track and manage departmental budgets. Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment utilizing highly effective organizational skills and independent work processing decisions. Demonstrated ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, and work effectively with multi-cultural populations that support diversity, cultural understanding and inclusion. High school graduate. The selected candidate must be able to pass the college’s pre-employment security screening.
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or related coursework is preferred. Experience writing in a clear, professional manner with advanced proofreading and editing skills is preferred. Experience providing support to teams with an emphasis on process management and improvement is preferred. Experience working in a higher education setting is also preferred.
PAY BAND RANGE: $27,004 - $70,017
STARTING SALARY: Approximate hiring salary, $27,004 - $45,000, based on related experience.
