ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE (ESL) INSTRUCTORS (PART-TIME)
J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and offers a variety of academic programs and services to the residents of the City of Richmond and five nearby counties. Annually, our three campuses serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. The College is seeking adjunct instructors to teach ESL for morning and evening intermediate through advanced levels of reading and writing classes.
Master’s degree in TESOL or Linguistics; or Master’s degree with eighteen (18) graduate semester hours in ESL or a related discipline. Fluency in a second language is preferred. Community college and online teaching experience is preferred; and strong written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to place a strong emphasis on student-centered learning and provide an innovative e-learning experience. Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with multi-cultural populations that support diversity, cultural understanding and inclusion is preferred.
