Reynolds is currently seeking applicants for the position of Advising Specialist which will be assigned to Enrollment Management and Student Success under the Department of Advising Services on either the Downtown Campus, 700 E. Jackson Street or Parham Road Campus 1651 E. Parham Road. 

TYPE OF APPOINTMENT:  Full-time restricted classified position with state benefits. Continued employment will be based on funding availability.


DUTIES:  The Advising Specialist provides exceptional front-line services to prospective students, current students, alumni, staff, faculty and the general public by delivering information and guidance in the areas of academic advising and general college enrollment services processes.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:   Working knowledge of curricular programs; academic requirements; career opportunities and qualifications; and enrollment services processes in a higher education setting.  Some knowledge of student development theory and practices. Demonstrated ability to advise students and provide a high level of customer service to students, parents, faculty and staff.  Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with multi-cultural populations that support diversity, cultural understanding and inclusion. Ability to utilize personal computers and current software programs. High school graduate or equivalent. The selected candidate must be able to pass the college’s pre-employment security screening.

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:  Graduation from an accredited college or university with course work in counseling or a related field is preferred.  Progressive experience working with a variety of individuals in an advisory or counseling capacity; and, experience working in a college environment is also preferred. Successful and demonstrated high performance in exceptional customer service. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.


PAY BAND RANGE: $27,004 - $70,017  

STARTING SALARY:  Approximate maximum hiring salary, $27,004 - $36,000, based on related experience.
