Surgical Technology Instructor/Program Head (#FO423)

Reynolds is currently seeking candidates for the position of Surgical Technology Instructor/Program Head which will be assigned to the School of Health Professions Downtown Campus, 700 E. Jackson Street.

Full-time nine-month teaching faculty-ranked appointment. Salary range: $45,965 - $74,500. Salary commensurate with the education and experience of the applicant.

Associate degree or greater with a concentration in surgical technology; and possess a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA). Minimum of five (5) years of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past ten (10) years. The selected candidate must be able to successfully pass the college's pre-employment screening, to include an extensive background check and drug screening.

Minimum of two (2) years of recent teaching experience in a surgical technology program. Demonstrated ability to teach effectively in both the didactic and clinical settings, including course development, student assessment, and course evaluations; and experience in curriculum development, use of multiple teaching strategies, and test construction. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and work with a diverse student population. Demonstrated ability to incorporate technology routinely into instructional and faculty responsibilities.

In addition to teaching responsibilities, the Reynolds program head assists the school dean with college-wide management duties and responsibilities for the academic program(s) and/or discipline(s) to which they are assigned, including (but not limited to) Program Health, Curriculum, Faculty Development and Evaluation, Program Compliance, and Scheduling.
