Virginia Community College System (VCCS)
CAREER SWITCHER PROGRAM

If you are interested in teaching and already have a bachelor's degree and at least five years of work experience, you may be eligible for the VCCS Career Switcher Program. Endorsement areas offered include Middle School (grades 6-8) with concentrations in mathematics, science, English/Language Arts; grades 6-12 mathematics, biology, chemistry, earth science, physics, or English; and K-12 English as a Second Language (ESL) and Foreign Languages. Program entrance requirements include successful completion of VCLA (Virginia Communication and Literacy Assessment) and the appropriate Praxis II exam and content coursework appropriate to the endorsement area selected.
