That shortage is projected to increase over the next 20 years. By obtaining the credentials in one of these health care professions, you are opening doors for your future—whether it is through earning power and job security in a health care field or as a stepping stone to furthering your education—through a Bachelors, Masters, or Doctoral degrees in a health care field.

Not only are many health professions very rewarding as means to help others through “hands on” interventions—Nursing, EMS, Respiratory Therapy, Dental Assisting. Others do not involve direct patient care, but require specialized skills that contribute to the health care team’s goals of improving health – Dental Laboratory, Medical Laboratory, Opticianry, Health Records Coding, Pharmacy Technician. The skills obtained in these programs help to prepare many of our students to continue their education at the Bachelor’s Degree or graduate school level. JSRCC has close ties with VCU, where many of our graduates continue in their educational pursuits.
