At Reynolds Community College, student success doesn’t just happen in the classroom. It’s built into every space where learning unfolds. The Facilities Management team is the force that keeps those spaces running smoothly, safely, and seamlessly.
From the moment students arrive on campus, Facilities is already at work. The team maintains more than 837,000 square feet of building space and 105 acres of grounds, ensuring every classroom, walkway, and common area is clean, comfortable, and ready for learning. Their work shapes the daily experience at Reynolds in ways that often go unnoticed, but are always essential.
The expertise behind every space
Facilities professionals routinely navigate complex building automation systems, electrical and HVAC infrastructure, and detailed mechanical drawings. It’s a highly skilled operation that blends technical knowledge with constant coordination across custodial, maintenance, grounds, electrical, parking, and administrative teams.
That coordination is key. Using a variety of tools, the team stays proactive — tracking projects, anticipating needs, and responding quickly when challenges arise. Whether preparing campuses for a new semester, supporting major college events, or adapting spaces for evolving programs, Facilities ensures Reynolds remains responsive and ready.
Events at Reynolds are another major part of the team’s work. From pre-event planning and logistics to room setup, utility and lighting support, custodial services, traffic guidance, teardown, and restoration, Facilities Management plays an essential role in creating successful experiences for students, employees, and community guests across every campus.
“Facilities is a driving force behind every successful event at Reynolds,” said Events Director Ariel Cole. “Their team approaches every detail with professionalism, flexibility, and care, and their support allows us to create welcoming, seamless experiences for our students and community.”
Working together to keep Reynolds moving forward
Their impact becomes especially visible in moments of challenge. During the February 2026 ice storm, the entire team came together to clear parking lots, driveways, and walkways — restoring safe access to campus under difficult and hazardous conditions.
It’s one example of the commitment that defines the team’s culture.
Facilities also plays a critical role in safety and sustainability. From stormwater management and emergency preparedness to regulatory compliance and infrastructure planning, the team helps create an environment where students and employees can focus and feel secure.
What truly sets the Reynolds Facilities team apart is its shared sense of purpose. Across every role, there’s a consistent commitment to hard work, integrity, care, and collaboration. Each team member contributes a vital piece to a larger puzzle, one that keeps Reynolds functioning at its best.
“Together we focus on the task but also the outcome,” said Building & Grounds Manager Travis Burgoyne. “By performing our duties at the highest level, it creates a sense of achievement and satisfaction, because we know that we have helped contribute to the students and the college’s success.”
Motivated by the knowledge that their work directly supports students, the Facilities team takes pride in delivering excellence every day. As Reynolds continues to grow, they remain focused on supporting long-term planning, sustainability, and innovation to meet the college’s evolving needs.
At every level, Facilities Management is building more than infrastructure — they’re building the foundation for student success.
