TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Full-time classified position with state benefits. 

 

DUTIES: The System Engineer Analyst is responsible for providing support, management, and security expertise for endpoint support college-wide.  This position also works proactively to ensure that technologies encompassing endpoint security, data integrity, and identity management are configured and maintained according to Reynolds and Virginia Community College System (VCCS) security requirements. This position will champion the use of enterprise tools from Microsoft to develop and deploy secure software images, while collaborating and being an escalation point for Computing Support units who are responsible for managing computers. System administration duties of the position include, but are not limited to, Tiers 1 & 2 support of Microsoft Servers, SCCM/MECM. Intune, VoIP system, and assist help desk team and end-users as needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Considerable working knowledge of and experience with endpoint security technologies and systems, including anti-virus and endpoint protection software, full disk encryption, and two-factor authentication (MFA). Demonstrated ability to use enterprise tools for vulnerability scanning, risk analysis, and mitigation. Demonstrated ability to use enterprise tools for creating, packaging, and deploying software in a Windows environment.  Demonstrated ability to interpret scripts for automation of endpoint management tasks, system configurations, and parsing data. Supporting experience with management and reporting of enterprise patching, policy creation, and directory services within a Windows environment as well as Office365.  Demonstrated ability to learn new software and champion its deployment in an organization, while handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated skill and experience with managing enterprise endpoint tools, imaging, software packaging, and patching; experience creating and interpreting multiple scripting languages (PowerShell, Batch, etc.); and ability to perform Tier 1 & 2 servers and infrastructure support. Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service and communicate and work effectively with multi-cultural populations that support diversity, cultural understanding and inclusion. Ability to work independently when given unfamiliar tasks to complete, only requesting assistance when there is no known precedent to the given situation or an unforeseen issue arises.  Graduation from high school supplemented by training in computer information systems or a related area is required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED: A Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems or a related area is preferred. A security credential such as CompTIA Security+ is also preferred.

PAY BAND: 4

STARTING SALARY: Maximum starting salary, $62,400. Based on related experience.
