Nursing Instructor (#GO265)

Reynolds is currently seeking candidates for the position of Nursing Instructor which will be assigned to the School of Health Professions Downtown Campus, 700 E. Jackson Street.

Full-time restricted nine-month teaching faculty-ranked appointment.  Salary range: $45,965 - $74,000. Salary commensurate with the education and experience of the applicant.

Master’s degree in Nursing from a nationally accredited college or university. An unrestricted Registered Nurse’s license. Minimum of two (2) years of direct client care nursing experience or its equivalent within the past five (5) years or two (2) years of full-time teaching in nursing education or its equivalent (30 credits is equal to 1 year). The selected candidate must be able to successfully pass the college's pre-employment screening, to include an extensive background check and drug screening.

Minimum two (2) years of recent teaching experience in a nursing program. Demonstrated ability to teach effectively in both didactic and clinical settings, including course development, student assessment, course evaluations and advising. Education to include principles of teaching and learning. Demonstrated ability to incorporate technology routinely into instructional responsibilities (multimedia, flipped classroom teaching strategies, and test construction). Demonstrated understanding of concept-based teaching principles.  Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations in an urban setting. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in community, wellness/illness, chronic care and geriatric work experience.

The primary responsibility is teaching.  Faculty loads are normally scheduled on an average load of fifteen (15) credit hours per semester. Office hours, advising and collateral duty assignments, such as college and department meetings are maintained. Teaching schedules may include day, evening and weekend classes and multiple campus and off-campus clinical assignments.  Opportunities for summer teaching will be based on student interest.
