Reynolds is seeking applicants for the position of Respiratory Therapy Clinical Preceptors.

TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Part-time hourly position without state benefits. Wage employees are restricted to working approximately 29 hours per week, not to exceed 1,500 hours annually.

DUTIES: Reynolds Community College is currently in need of multiple clinical preceptors for the School of Health Professions Respiratory Therapy Program. The primary role of the preceptor is to facilitate high quality student learning by assisting the student to meet personal and course objectives. Duties include: demonstrating professional expertise; actively engaging students in the instructional environment; creating a positive environment for teaching and learning offering instructional feedback to students regarding questions and concerns, to include constructive feedback to correct errors when they occur; scheduling students to ensure appropriate number of hours are assigned for clinical rotations and laboratories; and monitoring successful completion of clinical hours and assignments.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Current, valid Respiratory Therapy license in the State of Virginia is required. A minimum of an associate degree in Respiratory Therapy; and a minimum of tw o (2) years of full-time employment as a Respiratory Therapist in a clinical setting. The selected candidates must be willing to teach clinicals, at on-site clinical locations, at least one or two days per week for an eight (8) or twelve (12) hour shift during the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 semesters. Selected candidates must be able to pass the college's pre-employment screening.

STARTING SALARY: Starting hourly rate, $28.77 per hour.
