Passwords expire after 180 days. You will be warned of impending expiration 14 days prior to expiration when you log into MyReynolds. At 180 days and beyond, MyReynolds will require you to change your password immediately after sign-in.

New passwords must adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Must be 8 to 32 characters in length.
  • Must contain at least one upper case letter (A-Z).
  • Must contain at least one lower case letter (a-z).
  • Must contain at least one number (0-9).
  • Must contain at least one special character ($, #, %, etc.).
  • Cannot be the same as the user's username.
  • Cannot be the same as the current password.
  • Cannot be the same as the user's date of birth.
  • Cannot contain spaces.
  • Cannot exceed more than two consecutive characters of your username, first name, or last name.

Forgot Your Password?

Choose the Forgot Password option to create a new password.

Follow the steps below to reset your password.

  • Enter your VCCS username or your email address.
  • Click Continue.
  • Choose your preferred reset method. Note that the preferred methods that are available to you are based on your email address and mobile phone number information that is currently on file in SIS (Student Information System). If your information is incorrect, please click here to submit a Help Desk ticket to get it updated.
  • Click Submit.
  • It may take a few moments for your reset. You should then see a message with instructions that you will need to follow to reset your password.
  • Click Close to clear the message from the screen.

It is recommended to allow up to 10 minutes for the new password to be updated to your SIS, Canvas, student email account, and other VCCS enterprise applications that you have access to.

Changing Your Password

You can change your password at any time after you login to your account using the Account Details feature.

  • Select Account Details in the top right part of the main MyReynolds dashboard page (the icon symbol will look like a person and is right next to your name).
  • Click Change Password.
  • Carefully read the VCCS Password Policy information.
  • Enter your current password in the Current Password field.
  • Enter your new password in both the New Password and Confirm New Password fields.
  • Click Save.
  • Verify that you see a message saying that you successfully changed your password.
