Passwords expire after 180 days. You will be warned of impending expiration 14 days prior to expiration when you log into MyReynolds. At 180 days and beyond, MyReynolds will require you to change your password immediately after sign-in.

New passwords must adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Must be 8 to 32 characters in length.
  • Must contain at least one upper case letter (A-Z).
  • Must contain at least one lower case letter (a-z).
  • Must contain at least one number (0-9).
  • Must contain at least one special character ($, #, %, etc.).
  • Cannot be the same as the user's username.
  • Cannot be the same as the current password.
  • Cannot be the same as the user's date of birth.
  • Cannot contain spaces.
  • Cannot exceed more than two consecutive characters of your username, first name, or last name.

If you have forgotten both your password and the answers to your security questions, reset your password. For additional help, contact the Reynolds Information Center at (804) 371-3000.

Forgot Your Password?

Choose the Forgot Password option to create a new password.

Follow the steps below to reset your password.

  • Enter your VCCS username.
  • Click OK.
  • Enter the answers to three of your five security questions. If you don't know an answer to a question, click Skip.
  • Click Submit.
  • Enter and then retype your new password.
  • Click Update. Verify that you see a message saying that you successfully changed your password.

It is recommended to allow up to 10 minutes for the new password to be updated to your SIS, Canvas, and Student Email accounts.

Changing Your Password

You can change your password at any time using the Account Details feature.

  • Select Account Details in the top right part of the main MyReynolds dashboard page.
  • Enter your current password and click Sign In.
  • Under the Change Password section, click Change Now.
  • Enter your current password in the Current Password field.
  • Enter your new password in both the New Password and Re-enter New Password fields.
  • Click Update. Verify that you see a message saying that you successfully changed your password.
